{"id":150,"date":"2022-07-02T07:38:10","date_gmt":"2022-07-02T07:38:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/albaniahemp.org\/?page_id=150"},"modified":"2025-06-16T10:56:32","modified_gmt":"2025-06-16T10:56:32","slug":"vote-for-hemp","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/albaniahemp.org\/en\/vote-for-hemp\/","title":{"rendered":"Vote for Hemp Albania"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/votonikerpin.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"415\" src=\"https:\/\/albaniahemp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Votoni-Kerpin-GB-Logo-1024x415.jpg\" alt=\"Votoni K\u00ebrpin\" class=\"wp-image-84\" style=\"width:326px;height:131px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/albaniahemp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Votoni-Kerpin-GB-Logo-1024x415.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/albaniahemp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Votoni-Kerpin-GB-Logo-300x122.jpg 300w, https:\/\/albaniahemp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Votoni-Kerpin-GB-Logo-768x311.jpg 768w, https:\/\/albaniahemp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Votoni-Kerpin-GB-Logo.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/votonikerpin.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Vote for Hemp<\/a>\u201d is a campaign created by the&nbsp;National Albanian Hemp Industry Association&nbsp;for amending the Law nr. 7975, date 26.7.1995 \u201cOn Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances\u201d to allow the redevelopment of Albanian hemp industry for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Increasing agriculture employment and exports.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Creating rural development opportunities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reducing illegal cannabis cultivation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The current Albanian legislation defines as a <a href=\"https:\/\/albaniahemp.org\/en\/what-is-industrial-hemp\/\">industrial hemp<\/a> that is any plant of the genus Cannabis Sativa which contains up to 0.1% Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This law limits cultivation of hemp only for harvesting seed and fiber.&nbsp;Also, this legislation prohibits the cultivation of this plant\u2019s flowers, which contain many non-psychoactive cannabinoids, such as Cannabidiol (CBD) and Cannabigerol (CBG).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>European Union (EU) legislation on agricultural subsidies defines industrial hemp as an approved cannabis hybrid (Cannabis Sativa L) containing up to 0.3% THC. However, Italy allows up to 0.6% THC and the Czech Republic up to 1% THC. Switzerland allows the THC level at 1%. The United States and Canada allow up to 0.3% THC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the law changes, then Albania will be allowed to enter the international hemp market. A market which is projected to grow from $4.6 billion in 2019 to $26.6 billion by 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout Albania\u2019s history, the hemp is mainly cultivated for textiles and for the production of ropes.&nbsp;In the Albanian market, it has been operating for several years, only a commercial entity called <a href=\"https:\/\/albaniahemp.org\/en\/pioneering-the-hemp-industry-in-albania\/\">American-Alb Hemp Company<\/a>, which is creating the market and the culture of industrial hemp in
